Ingredients

Scale

Butter Base

  • 1 cup salted butter (2 sticks), room temperature

Pumpkin Mixture

  • 3 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar (optional, if needed for sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Butter: Place the room temperature salted butter into a large mixing bowl. Using a handheld mixer or stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, begin whipping the butter until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add Pumpkin and Sweeteners: Add the pumpkin puree, honey, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and vanilla extract to the butter. Mix on medium speed until all ingredients are well combined.
  3. Whip to Fluffiness: Scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure even mixing. Increase the mixer speed to high and whip the mixture for about 3 to 4 minutes until the butter becomes light, fluffy, and airy.
  4. Taste and Adjust: Taste the pumpkin honey butter, and if desired, add the extra teaspoon of brown sugar for additional sweetness. Whip again for another 30 seconds to integrate.
  5. Serve or Store: Serve immediately in a pretty bowl, optionally garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a drizzle of honey. Alternatively, transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator. Before serving chilled butter, allow it to soften slightly at room temperature for easier spreading.

Notes

  • Room temperature butter whips best and produces the fluffiest texture.
  • Use pure pumpkin puree—not pumpkin pie filling—for the best flavor and texture.
  • Adjust sweetness to your personal preference by adding more honey or brown sugar as needed.
  • Store unused butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • Allow refrigerated butter to soften slightly before spreading to avoid tearing bread.
  • Can be used to enhance biscuits, pancakes, waffles, muffins, or toast.
