Ingredients

Scale

Dairy

  • 225 g cream cheese, softened
  • 240 ml sour cream
  • 110 g shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 110 g shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 60 g shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Vegetables & Herbs

  • 40 g sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained and chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped (or 2 teaspoons dried basil)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Pantry

  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (preferably from sun-dried tomato jar or regular)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 190°C (375°F) and allow it to fully preheat for even baking.
  2. Mix Dairy Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, and sharp cheddar cheese. Stir thoroughly until smooth and well combined.
  3. Incorporate Vegetables and Seasonings: Add the chopped sun-dried tomatoes, minced garlic, fresh or dried basil, dried oregano, kosher salt, black pepper, and optional crushed red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture. Mix well to evenly distribute all ingredients.
  4. Add Olive Oil: Pour in the olive oil and continue mixing until the dip base is uniformly smooth and creamy.
  5. Prepare for Baking: Transfer the dip mixture into a medium-sized oven-safe baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  6. Bake the Dip: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the edges have turned a golden brown color.
  7. Serve: Remove the dip from the oven and allow it to cool slightly for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy it warm with toasted baguette slices, crackers, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • For extra heat, increase the crushed red pepper flakes or add a dash of cayenne pepper.
  • Use fresh basil if possible for more vibrant flavor; dried basil works well as a substitute.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing and a smoother dip.
  • Drain sun-dried tomatoes well to avoid excess oil in the dip, or use oil-packed tomatoes for richer flavor.
  • This dip can be prepared ahead by mixing all ingredients, then refrigerated until ready to bake.
  • Serve with a variety of dippers to suit all tastes, including pita chips, sliced cucumbers, or carrot sticks.
