Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped chocolate pieces
  • 1 cup non-dairy Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup sweetener of choice (sugar-free, white, or brown sugar)
  • 1/2 cup preferred milk (like unsweetened almond milk)

Dry Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup regular or gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Optional

  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Baking Pan and Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line an 8 x 8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang to make removing the brownies easier. Set aside.
  2. Melt Chocolate and Combine Wet Ingredients: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the 1/2 cup chopped chocolate pieces in short bursts, stirring until smooth. Let it cool slightly for 1-2 minutes. Add 1 cup non-dairy Greek yogurt and 1/2 cup sweetener to the melted chocolate and whisk until smooth and fully combined. Transfer this mixture to a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients and Combine with Wet Ingredients: Add 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda to the chocolate mixture. Stir gently until just combined, avoiding overmixing. Pour in 1/2 cup milk and mix well until fully incorporated. If desired, fold in 1 cup chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter.
  4. Bake the Brownies: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Cool the Brownies: Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Use the parchment edges to lift the brownies out, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Sweeteners such as erythritol or stevia-based blends are excellent for zero sugar brownies.
  • Using gluten-free flour makes this recipe suitable for gluten-sensitive eaters.
  • Don’t overmix the batter to keep the brownies fudgy and tender.
  • Adding chocolate chips is optional but adds extra richness and texture.
