Tender and flavorful Crockpot Steak Bites slow-cooked in a savory marinade with garlic, soy sauce, and Worcestershire, perfect for an easy weeknight meal or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak and Marinade

  • 2 lbs (900g) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Finishing

  • 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the Steak Dry: Use paper towels to thoroughly dry the steak cubes. This step helps the meat to sear better and enhances the overall flavor and texture during cooking.
  2. Make the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine the low-sodium soy sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed.
  3. Add to Crockpot: Place the dried steak cubes into the slow cooker. Pour the prepared marinade over the steak, then gently stir to ensure all pieces are evenly coated.
  4. Top with Butter: Distribute the butter pieces evenly over the top of the steak and marinade mixture inside the crockpot to add richness and enhance flavor.
  5. Slow Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours or on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours, until the steak bites are tender and cooked through.
  6. Serve: Once cooked, optionally garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve the steak bites hot, ideally over mashed potatoes, rice, or as a savory appetizer.

Notes

  • For best results, choose sirloin steak or other tender cuts suitable for slow cooking.
  • Be sure to pat the steak dry before marinating to get better flavor absorption and texture.
  • Adjust cooking times based on your slow cooker model and desired tenderness.
  • Low-sodium soy sauce helps control salt content but can be replaced by regular soy sauce for bolder flavor.
  • This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or rice for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
