Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 (5.1 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar (for sprinkling)

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup applesauce
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oven and pans: Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease two 5×9-inch loaf pans and sprinkle the bottoms evenly with cinnamon sugar to add a sweet cinnamon crust to your bread.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, white sugar, instant vanilla pudding mix, ground cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir well to distribute all the dry ingredients evenly.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, applesauce, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and thoroughly mixed.
  4. Combine wet and dry mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients bowl. Stir gently until the batter is smooth and all the ingredients are fully incorporated without overmixing.
  5. Divide batter and bake: Evenly divide the batter between the two prepared loaf pans. Place them in the preheated oven and bake for about 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
  6. Cool and serve: Remove the loaves from the oven and allow them to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely. Slice and enjoy your Cinnamon Bread Delight!

Notes

  • For extra cinnamon flavor, sprinkle additional cinnamon sugar on top of the batter before baking.
  • Ensure not to overmix the batter to keep the bread light and fluffy.
  • Use applesauce as a healthier fat substitute to reduce overall fat content.
  • Store bread wrapped in plastic or in an airtight container to keep freshness for up to 3 days.
  • Can be frozen for up to 3 months; thaw at room temperature before serving.
