Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Breading

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 ½ cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil for frying (about 2-3 cups vegetable oil)

Sauce

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to spice preference)

Assembly

  • Hamburger buns or slider buns (4 to 8 buns, depending on size)
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, pickles, sliced onions

Instructions

  1. Prep the Oil and Chicken: Preheat the cooking oil in a deep frying pan or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Lightly tenderize the chicken breasts if needed for even thickness.
  2. Season and Bread the Chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs. Coat each chicken breast first in flour, then dip in the eggs, and finally press into the panko breadcrumbs to fully coat.
  3. Fry the Chicken: Carefully place the breaded chicken breasts into the hot oil. Fry for about 8-10 minutes until they turn golden brown and are cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F). Remove and drain on paper towels. Let cool slightly before slicing.
  4. Make the Bang Bang Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha. Mix well until smooth. Adjust the amount of sriracha to suit your desired spice level.
  5. Assemble the Sliders: Slice the fried chicken breasts into strips. Spread a generous amount of the bang bang sauce onto the bottom half of each bun. Layer the chicken strips on top, add optional toppings such as lettuce, pickles, and sliced onions for crunch and flavor.
  6. Serve: Place the top bun over the assembled ingredients and serve the sliders immediately while the chicken is still warm and crispy.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double coat the chicken by repeating the egg and panko step before frying.
  • You can substitute the chicken breasts with chicken tenders for a quicker prep.
  • Adjust sriracha quantity based on your preferred spice level.
  • To keep sliders warm, assemble just before serving or keep chicken warm in a low oven.
  • Use a thermometer to ensure chicken is cooked safely to 165°F internally.
  • Try adding slaw or avocado slices for extra texture and freshness.
